Entry requirements for undergraduate programmes
Each programme will have slightly different requirements, both in terms of overall points and certain subjects, so please check the relevant subject in the undergraduate on-line prospectus.
Normally Ulster University welcomes applications from students with:
Qualifications
Students must have passed their Diplôme de Fin d'Etudes Secondaires or Diplôme de Fin d'Etudes Secondaires Techniques with an overall average of 36 or above.
The following qualifications may also be considered and if students have completed any of these with good (40 and above) grades and have covered the relevant syllabus, they may be considered for entry into Year 2:
- Diplôme de Technicien
- Brevet de Technicien Supérieur
- Certifica d'Études Juridiques et Économiques
- Certificat d'Études Littéraires et de Sciences Humaines
- Certificat d'Études Scientifiques
- Diplôme d'Études Supérieures de Gestion
- Diplôme d'Ingénieur Technicien
- Diplôme Universitaire du Premier Cycle

English Language Entry Requirements
Normally the minimum English language entry requirement is IELTS (academic) of 6.0 (with no band score of less than 5.5).
Some of our courses ask for a higher score.
If you do not meet the English language requirement we will give you a conditional offer subject to you meeting the requirement before the commencement of the course.
We accept a wide range of alternative English language examinations and tests so please check the list of other accepted tests
Scholarship support
We offer a range of scholarships for international students applying to eligible undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, based at our Northern Ireland locations.

Global Excellence Scholarship* | £5,000 | Applicants who have achieved the equivalent of a UK 2:1 undergraduate degree or above. |
Standard Country Scholarship* | £3,000 | Applicants who have achieved the entry requirements for the programme. |
*Scholarships are not cumulative; only one scholarship may be used per application.

Assessment
All international applicants are automatically assessed for Scholarships. No separate application is required.
Scholarship eligibility is assessed at the point an offer is made. Where applicable, awards will be confirmed in updated offer letters.

Postgraduate courses
Typically we require applicant for taught programmes to hold the equivalent of a UK first degree (usually in a relevant subject area). Please refer to the specific entry requirements for your chosen course of study as outlined in the online prospectus.

GCSE Math requirements
- Achieve an average of 36 or above in Maths from their Secondary education.
