Entry requirements for undergraduate programmes
Each programme will have slightly different requirements, both in terms of overall points and certain subjects, so please check the relevant subject in the undergraduate on-line prospectus.
Normally Ulster University welcomes applications from students with:
Qualifications
Students must have passed one of the following:
- Certificado de fim de Estudos Secundários or Certidão do Décimo Segundo Ano) with a grade of 14/Bom or above.
- The Diploma Nível Secundário de Educação / Certificado Nível Secundário de Educaçãowith a grade of 14/Bom or above.
- The Nível 4 Qualificação do Quadro Nacional de Qualificações with a grade of 14/Bom or above.
- The Bacharel / Bacharelato (HND equivalent, in some cases applicants may be considered for advanced entry)

Entry requirements for postgraduate programmes
Typically we require applicants for taught programmes to hold the equivalent of a UK first degree (usually in a relevant subject area). Please refer to the specific entry requirements for your chosen course of study as outlined in the online prospectus. We consider students who have good grades in the following:

- Students must hold a Licenciado with an overall mark of 14 or above.

English Language Entry Requirements
Normally the minimum English language entry requirement is IELTS (academic) of 6.0 (with no band score of less than 5.5).
Some of our courses ask for a higher score.
If you do not meet the English language requirement we will give you a conditional offer subject to you meeting the requirement before the commencement of the course.
We accept a wide range of alternative English language examinations and tests so please check the list of other accepted tests
GCSE Math requirement
- Grade of 14/Bom or above in Maths as part of the Certificado de Habilitacoes do Ensino Secundários (achieve a Grade of 16 for courses requiring GCSE Grade B/C*/6).
Scholarship support
We offer a range of scholarships for international students applying to eligible undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, based at our Northern Ireland locations.

Standard Country Scholarship* | £3,000 | Applicants who have achieved the entry requirements for the programme. |
*Scholarships are not cumulative; only one scholarship may be used per application.

Assessment
All international applicants are automatically assessed for Scholarships. No separate application is required.
Scholarship eligibility is assessed at the point an offer is made. Where applicable, awards will be confirmed in updated offer letters.
