Student story: 'My experience with sport has been brilliant'

Clare Conway studied Sport, Physical Activity and Health at our Derry~Londonderry campus. Here, Clare shares the benefits of getting involved!

“Whether you prefer to workout yourself or join a team environment we’ve got you covered! There are various ways to get involved in sport and physical activity at Ulster University across all campuses, from sports clubs to get-active classes to group walks.

There are many benefits of joining sports clubs for your overall physical, mental and social wellbeing such as getting active, making friends, learning and develop new skills and overall fun and enjoyment. Don’t worry if you prefer to try something new without competition as there are a number of sports clubs providing recreational sessions to get involved in, so why not try something new? So get involved, reach out to clubs via social media platforms with any questions or come visit us at Freshers' Fayre.

My experience with sport within UU has been brilliant, I have travelled to Dublin, Wexford, Galway and Belfast, exploring our wonderful country while promoting Ulster University.

The highlight of my time at UU was definitely joining and competing for various clubs including camogie, badminton as well as setting out the GAA Handball club. There are opportunities to travel and compete in competition for your sport, meeting other university students and teams which also is great craic."
