Academic Appeals
You will need to know about this process if you believe you need to appeal a grade or mark that has been ratified by the Board of Examiners.
Learn more about Ulster’s Academic Appeal process and the schedule for submitting appeals by visiting the Examination Appeals page.
The academic appeals process is the process by which you can appeal a grade/mark within a short window of time once the Board of Examiners has ratified the grade/mark.
There are two types of academic appeal possible, one which looks at extenuating circumstances or information not known to the Board of Examiners at the time of ratifying of grade/marks, and the second is around procedural (or other) irregularities.
An academic appeal cannot normally change a grade/mark, it can however enable resits/additional submissions where successful.
