Global Experiences

During your time at Ulster you have the opportunity to apply for and secure a range of global experiences. From study abroad to international placements to volunteering and cultural immersive experiences, international experiences really do expand your horizons, build international connections and grow your confidence more than you can imagine.

If you complete any international opportunities organised through Ulster University you will achieve recognition through the Ulster Graduate Award. Equally, if you engage with international opportunities independently, you can submit information that will be reviewed so that this experience can be counted as an activity for your Ulster Graduate Award.

Short term Study and Volunteering opportunities

If you like the idea of going "Global" but don't want to or can't commit to a year placement then there are lots of ways you can undertake a Global opportunity. These can range from one week to three months and could be in the form of a summer school, study opportunity, work placement or volunteering project.

If you complete a Short term study or volunteering opportunity abroad that is promoted or ran by Ulster University you will submit evidence of this as part of your final application for the Ulster Graduate Award.

Placement and Work Experience Abroad

Graduate employers increasingly seek recruits with multicultural awareness, adaptability and awareness of global business networks.  International work- experience help you to develop these highly transferable skills which are proven to increase employability.

By travelling overseas and experiencing different work environments, people, cultures and organisations, you will not only develop your technical and professional skills but can confidently demonstrate to prospective employers that you are resilient, independent and adaptable, making you a valuable asset to their business.

If you complete aa placement or internship opportunity abroad that is promoted or ran by Ulster University you will submit evidence of this as part of your final application for the Ulster Graduate Award.

Learning Languages

Enhance your global opportunities by becoming proficient in Mandarin, French, Spanish, or German through a language courses.
