The Global Opportunities Team have put together a range of fully and partially funded short-term opportunities open to Ulster students.

If you like the idea of going "Global" but don't want to or can't commit to a year placement then there are lots of ways you can undertake a Global opportunity. These can range from one week to three months and could be in the form of a summer school, study opportunity, work placement or volunteering project.

By undertaking a short-term opportunity, you will gain experience of study, work or volunteer in a different cultural, linguistic and/or social environment to that of University study.

You will learn more about yourself as a global citizen in terms of life skills, career choices and your academic development outside the classroom.

Why consider a Short Term Go Global Programme?

1) Longer opportunities are more competitive

To live and study in another country for an extended period is a rare opportunity so grab a short-term mobility programme if you can!

2) EDGE Accreditation

Even with a shorter mobility programme you can still get credit towards Ulster's EDGE Award. Contact edge@ulster.ac.uk to find out more.

3) Grow your skills to take the leap

If you are unsure you want to commit to a year abroad, a short term mobility programme could be what you need to give you the confidence and skills you need to take the leap.

4) Make new friends

Students who go abroad build new international long-term social, academic and professional networks. This means that you will always have a network of friends across the globe who you can continue to visit and learn from. It can also increase your global job prospects further down the line.

5) Time flexible

Most short-term mobilities are outside of term-time, so are particularly beneficial for students with demanding term-time schedules. There are programmes available from 1 week, a month or 3 months providing options for all students.
