Learn more about yourself as a global citizen
Interested in gaining international experience but unable to commit to a full year abroad? A short-term Go Global opportunity could be the perfect option.
Short-term programmes typically range from one week to three months and may include summer schools, study opportunities, work placements, or volunteering projects. These experiences allow you to study, work, or volunteer in a different cultural, linguistic, or social environment while fitting around your academic commitments.
By taking part, you will develop valuable life skills, enhance your employability, broaden your cultural awareness, and gain a deeper understanding of yourself as a global citizen. You'll also have the opportunity to support your academic and personal development beyond the classroom while building confidence for future international experiences.
Why Consider a Short-Term Go Global Programme?
1. More Accessible Opportunities
Longer study abroad experiences can be highly competitive. A short-term mobility programme offers a fantastic opportunity to gain international experience and make the most of studying abroad.
2. Earn Recognition Towards the Ulster Graduate Award
Many short-term mobility opportunities can contribute towards the Ulster Graduate Award, helping you enhance your employability while gaining valuable international experience. For more information, contact graduatefutures@ulster.ac.uk.
3. Build Confidence for Future Opportunities
Not sure if a semester or year abroad is right for you? A short-term programme allows you to experience living and learning in a different country while developing the confidence, skills, and independence to take on longer international opportunities in the future.
4. Expand Your Global Network
Meet students from around the world, build lasting friendships, and create international academic and professional connections. These global networks can enrich your university experience and support your future career prospects.
5. Flexible and Convenient
Most short-term programmes take place outside of teaching periods, making them ideal for students with busy academic schedules. With opportunities ranging from one week to three months, there is an option to suit a variety of interests and commitments.
