Some modules, especially on the Belfast and Derry~Londonderry campuses, run across multiple rooms so make sure you know exactly where you need to be.

On the day of your exam:

  • Bring your student ID card
  • Double-check you’re enrolled on the correct modules
  • Make sure all your exams appear correctly

Contact Student Operations if anything looks wrong.

What You Can (and Can’t) Bring Into the Exam Room

Different rooms may have different set-ups, but all will have a designated area for personal belongings. These areas are not secure, so avoid bringing valuables as the University can’t accept responsibility for lost or stolen items.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Only small electronic devices (e.g., phones, smartwatches) may be placed inside the small box on your desk, switched off.
  • Unless the exam paper explicitly allows them, notes and calculators must be left with your belongings in the designated area.
  • No devices, notes, or unauthorised items can be kept in your pockets, on your person, or at your desk (other than what’s in the box).
  • If you don’t store your items correctly, your exam will be declared void and you will receive a mark of 0.

Make sure to also review the University’s Important Information on Examination Dates and Conduct of Examinations.
