Ulster Supports Student Carers

With around 222,000 people in Northern Ireland providing unpaid care for their loved ones (NI Census 2021), it’s clear that at Ulster, there will be students taking on this role while balancing studies, part-time jobs and social activities.

If you are in this position, support is here for you from the new Ulster University Carers’ Network that will bring students and staff together.

What the Carers’ Network Offers

• Connect student and staff carers together.
• Support through peer engagement and shared resources, peer support sessions, lunch and learn webinars, guest speaker events, an online discussion forum and signposting to Carers NI online hub.
• Celebrate carers, making their contributions visible and valued, while protecting personal experience and boundaries.

Get Involved

The network is open to all carers, past, current or future, as well as anyone who may anticipate needing care for themselves at some point.
