SafeZone is available to students across all Ulster University campuses and can give you quick access to help when you need it.
What can you use SafeZone for?
SafeZone gives you access to several features designed to help you stay safe and supported on campus.
Emergency assistance
If you feel threatened or need urgent assistance, you can use the app to alert the University Security team.
First aid
You can request help if you or a friend needs medical assistance.
Non-emergency help
If you notice something unusual or have a non-emergency concern, you can use SafeZone to make Security aware.
Wellbeing assistance
The app also provides access to support 24/7.
Check in and check out
If you're working or studying on campus and want an extra layer of reassurance, you can use the check-in/check-out timer to share your location with Security so they can help if an emergency occurs.
How does it work?
Once you've downloaded SafeZone and registered using your Ulster University email address, you're ready to use it across Ulster's campuses.
SafeZone doesn't track your location all the time. You only become visible to the system when you raise an alert or use the check-in feature.
If you activate an alert, Campus Security receives it within seconds and will call you immediately. If you can't safely speak on the phone, you can use two-way messaging to provide further information.
Get SafeZone on your phone
SafeZone is free and optional. Download it from the App Store or Google Play, then register using your Ulster University email address, name and phone number.
It's worth downloading the app now, so it's there if you ever need it.
