Timber Quay, also known as Block MXB, is located on the Strand Road in Derry~Londonderry, around a 10–12 minute walk from the main campus.

The first teaching spaces opened in 2025, and now Levels 3 and 4 have opened, bringing more subjects and teaching activity into the building.

With teaching now taking place across Levels 1, 3 and 4, you may have classes or activities scheduled at Timber Quay as part of your programme.

Getting to Timber Quay

Timber Quay is around a 10–12 minute walk from the main campus.

The Strand Road is busy, so take your time and use the pedestrian crossing at the traffic lights when crossing the road. Allow yourself a few extra minutes to get there, particularly if you have a class starting straight after one on the main campus.

Parking at Timber Quay is very limited, so if you're travelling by car, park at the main campus or use a safe and legal public parking area.

Remember your Student ID

Timber Quay is a shared building, so access to different areas is controlled. Make sure you carry your student ID card with you when you visit.

If you forget your card, you'll need to contact the main reception in the main campus building to arrange a temporary card. If your card isn't working, you can also contact reception for help with access.

Settling into Timber Quay

Whether you're heading to a lab, meeting up with your project group or grabbing a drink between classes, Timber Quay gives you more space to learn and work as part of your student experience in Derry~Londonderry.
