Since launching in September 2025, the Network has grown to more than 160 members, including around 60 students, with members across Belfast, Coleraine and Derry~Londonderry.

You Don't Have to do it Alone

Being a carer can mean different things to different people. You might support a parent, partner, child, sibling, relative, friend or neighbour.

This could include helping with appointments and daily routines, providing emotional support, managing care arrangements or simply being there when someone needs you.

You may not even think of yourself as a carer. You might see yourself simply as a student supporting someone you care about.

The Carers’ Network recognises that everyone's experience is different and provides an opportunity to connect with people who understand the challenges of balancing caring responsibilities with university life.

As a student carer, there may be times when caring responsibilities affect your studies or mean you need to change your plans at short notice. Having people around you who understand can make a real difference.
