Welcome to Ulster!	Monday 14 September 2026 at 10:00 am	U113 Welcome to Ulster University! Join the International Student Advisory Service for a lively, informative session to learn about the many ways we can support you throughout your studies. We will cover topics such as: Online enrolment and registration Opening a UK bank account Registering with a doctor Accessing key services on and off campus During this session, you will gain essential information and practical tips to help you settle in Northern Ireland and feel right at home!
Your Guide to Public Transport in Northern Ireland	Monday 14 September 2026 at 11:00 am	U113 This session is designed to help you feel confident using public transport in Northern Ireland. You will learn how Northern Ireland’s public transport system operates, including how to access bus and train timetables, purchase tickets and travel cards, and use journey-planning tools. Additionally, we will provide tips on saving money, understanding timetables, and travelling safely and confidently.
Essentials Shopping Trip	Monday 14 September 2026 at 1:00 pm	Meet at Global Lounge Join the Global Ambassadors for an essential shopping trip! You will meet the Global Ambassadors in the Global Lounge at 1pm. A private coach will then transport you to Coleraine town and the Riverside Retail Park. This trip is a great opportunity to pick up essential items and groceries for your home. Register via email

Student Registration & Online Enrolment	Tuesday 15 September 2026 at 10:00 am	Library, Coleraine Campus During this session, you will complete your student registration and online enrollment, which includes: Meeting with the Student Visa and Immigration Support Service for ID verification. Choosing your modules and completing online registration. IT Services supporting you in accessing your University email, learning portal, and timetable. Collecting your Student ID card. The International Student Advisory Service and Global Ambassadors will be available to help you throughout the process and to answer any questions you may have.
Library Induction	Tuesday 15 September 2026 at 1:00 pm	H320 (Library) In this interactive session, you’ll discover how to make the most of the library services and spaces; gaining more knowledge of the resources available to support your studies. This session will end with a tour of the Library facilities.
Understanding Your Class Timetables	Tuesday 15 September 2026 at 2:00 pm	U113 This session will help you understand your class timetable in SEAts, including how to read your schedule, locate classes, and check for updates or changes - so you know exactly when and where you need to be.
Meet the Student's Union	Tuesday 15 September 2026 at 3:00 pm	U113 In this session you will meet our fantastic Students Union staff and officers. Learn about the range of support offered by our Students Union Advice Bureau, as well as the various initiatives and societies you can get involved with.
Sports Taster Session	Tuesday 15 September 2026 at 4:00 pm	Coleraine Sports Centre Join us for a fun and welcoming Sports Taster Session, where you’ll meet the Ulster University Sport team and connect with fellow new international students. Try out a range of different sports and activities, and explore what the Sports Centre has to offer - including the gym, fitness classes, and recovery suite!

EASC Session 1: Intercultural Fluency	Wednesday 16 September 2026 at 10:15 am	U113 Our EASC workshops are designed to cover key topics which will prepare you for academic study at Ulster. This workshops aims to support you as you adapt to life as an Ulster University student. You will gain practical insights into your new social and academic environment and share knowledge and experience of culture.
EASC Session 2: Academic Culture & Etiquette	Wednesday 16 September 2026 at 1:15 pm	U113 This workshop supports international students in understanding academic culture and expectations within the UK education system. Learn about classroom etiquette, communication with staff, assessment practices, and how to succeed academically with confidence.
Feel Better, Spend Smarter	Wednesday 16 September 2026 at 3:00 pm	U113 Our Student Wellbeing team offer a wide range of support including counselling services, financial advice and much more. You'll also find out about the Informed Minds App and how to get free access.
Coffee & Campus Walking Tour	Wednesday 16 September 2026 at 4:00 pm	Meet at Global Lounge Join our Global Ambassadors for a tour of all the must-see spaces and places on campus. Explore the scenic walking trail, the tranquil Wellbeing Garden, and experience the beauty of our very own waterfall!

EASC Session 3: Critical Thinking-Developing Higher Level Skills	Thursday 17 September 2026 at 10:15 am	U113 This workshop introduces students to essential critical thinking strategies to assist in their study at Ulster. Helping them to analyze information, evaluate and communicate ideas effectively in an academic environment, and gain confidence in understanding and engaging with different perspectives.
Understanding Your Student Visa	Thursday 17 September 2026 at 1:00 pm	U113 An important session delivered by our Student Visa and Immigration Support Service (SVISS), outlining your responsibilities as a Student visa holder. This session is mandatory if you hold a student visa. The session will cover: Academic and attendance obligations Permitted working hours Sickness and absence
Coffee & Careers: Meet the Employability and Graduate Futures Team	Thursday 17 September 2026 at 2:00 pm	U113 Join us for a cup of coffee and a chance to meet our Employability and Graduate Futures team who will share about the services they offer, including events, coaching workshops and part time work opportunities.
Meet the PSNI	Thursday 17 September 2026 at 3:00 pm	U113 An opportunity for new students to meet the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) and hear about the ways the PSNI can support you as an international student.
Global Buddy Scheme Welcome Event!	Thursday 17 September 2026 at 4:00 pm	Global Lounge This social event offers new international students the opportunity to meet others in the Global Buddy Scheme and connect with their buddies on campus. Students will begin building friendships and learn more about how the scheme can support their social and cultural experience at Ulster. Register via email

[catch up session]	Thursday 17 September 2026 at 4:00 pm	Global Lounge Attendance at this session is only required if you missed the mandatory 'Welcome to Ulster!' session on Monday. Join us for a informative session where you’ll get to know the International Student Advisory Service and how we’re here to support you throughout your studies. Join Kazi, one of our talented international students and a qualified dance instructor, for a fun-filled introduction to Bachata! Whether you're a complete beginner or just looking to try something new, Kazi will guide you through the basics of this lively and popular dance style. Come with a friend, bring a partner, or fly solo—everyone is welcome! This relaxed group class is a fantastic way to meet new people, learn a few impressive moves, and have plenty of laughs along the way. Don't miss out—it's sure to be a fun session! North Coast & Giants Causeway Trip	Friday 18 September 2026 at 9:00 am	Meet at Global Lounge Register for our Away Day trip to the Giant's Causeway! A bus will take you from Coleraine to Northern Ireland's famous Giant's Causeway, with a stop at the beautiful coastal town of Portrush on the way back. The cost is just £20 per person and includes travel, entry to the Giant's Causeway visitor centre and lunch in Portrush. Spaces will be limited- booking link coming soon!
