Employability & Graduate Futures run a range of programmes and activities throughout the year that you can use as part of your Ulster Graduate Award Journey.

From self-directed online activities to structured programmes like Students As Leaders to the brand new Getting Started with LinkedIn , we have something for everyone.

Level Up with LinkedIn

Level up with LinkedIn is your step‑by‑step roadmap to unlocking LinkedIn’s full potential.

This self directed online course will help you:

Build a standout professional profile
Grow meaningful industry connections
Strategically search for jobs & opportunities
Showcase your skills with confidence

Design Your Career Journey

Design Your Career Journey will help you map out your future, make informed decisions and take more control of your career.

To complete this activity you will attend an initial webinar where you we will clarify and explain the requirements of this activity and how we will support you to complete it.

At the end of this activity you will create your own Career Mind Map that will act as a foundation for you to develop specific, personalised career action plans. And we will help you every step of the way.

Career Confident

Career Confident is a self directed activity that will help you enhance your job search and overall chances of securing your next opportunity.

Through this activity you will:

Complete your Handshake profile to 100%
Achieve a minimum score of 85 in VMock
Use the VMock CV Optimiser to review how your CV is targeted to a specific job opportunity
Complete at least 1 practice interview in VMock
Develop a LinkedIn Profile that includes a profile pic, completed sections across your profile and min 15 connections

You can start these activities in your own time but make sure you book a 1-1 appointment with our Graduate Futures team for support.

Students As Entrepreneurs

Want to create your own career? Whether you’ve got a clear idea or just a passion for solving problems, Students as Entrepreneurs is your chance to build something that matters. Something that could pay your salary and put you in charge of your future.

Students as Entrepreneurs features a 3 part journey, tailored to wherever you are on your entrepreneurial journey:

1. The Ideas Lab

To inspire and encourage ideation amongst students which could lead to a new business and or freelance career. This activity comprises of:

In Person and Online workshops
Research and Self-study
Mentoring support from Business advisers

2. The Start-up Lab

To further develop an idea and explore the next steps to creating a viable business or commercial project.

This activity comprises of:

In Person and Online workshops
Research and Self-study -Attendance at an external business event
Mentoring support from Business advisers

3. The Scale-up Lab

To avail of support in sustaining and scaling their business in preparation for full time self-employment after graduation.

This activity comprises of:

One to one mentoring with the Enterprise Consultant and external Business Advisers
Attendance at at least one of the Sustain & Scale events
Development of an Action plan
Updated Business Plan, Cashflow Projections
