An exclusive Virtual Applicant Weekend has been confirmed for 12 and 13 February to give future and prospective students a taste of Ulster University.

Even though they can’t explore our campuses in person, the applicant weekend will begin on the Friday night (12th) and will include exclusive insights into courses, campus tours, and VIP events.

To date, applications to Ulster University are currently up by 20% for 2021 entry, and with a diverse selection of talks, webinars and tours available to all applicants and to those who will have received their offer, the focus is now to maximise ‘Conditional Firm’ returns.

A number of teams across the university, including Market Engagement and Strategic Marketing together with the various Schools and Faculties, have devised the programme for the weekend

which will heavily feature the student voice, with current students sharing their journeys and experiences so far during their time at university.

As well as live talks and webinars providing subject insights, sessions will be held across the two days focusing on areas including: how UU supports its students, the experience of living on campus, why employers love UU, what your first semester will look like, how students are maximising their student experience during COVID-19, Sport at UU and  why you should get involved in the Students’ Union, with Collette Cassidy (President of UUSU) providing the event’s opening welcome.

Enjoy this opportunity to find out about studying at each of our diverse campuses - while each campus differs in size and has its own distinctive atmosphere, wherever you study, our students will still experience Ulster’s unique character.

Advice will also be on hand regarding the application process and its next steps.

Anthony McGrath, Head of Market Engagement, said:

“Our Applicant Weekend is our opportunity to connect at a deeper level with those who have already shown some commitment towards the University.

Even though we can’t host these events on campus this year, this weekend will allow potential students to explore our campuses in person and find out what we have to offer.

We also have an exciting selection of mini talks which will aim to inform, excite and inspire, and allow any future or prospective students discover what life is like at Ulster.”

It is intended that Campus Tours will be available after Easter for smaller groups (as soon as COVID regulations permit) to experience their campus of choice at first hand.
