Ulster University Business School has, for over forty years, been a leading provider of university accredited management education, training and development programmes in Northern Ireland.

We are actively engaged with organisations through a number of initiatives including student work placements and internships, teaching, guest lecture activities, research and engagement with Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs) and Fusion projects.

We work with a number of professional bodies, including, the Chartered Institute of Marketing, the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, Chartered Accountants Ireland, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators and the Chartered Financial Analysts Society of the UK to offer courses that are professionally accredited and relevant and we can also tailor courses to meet your organisation’s requirements.

As a member of the UK's Association of Business Schools, the European Foundation for Management Development, and the Harvard Business School’s Microeconomics of Competitiveness Affiliate Network, and as a collaborator with Babson College, Boston, Ulster University Business School has established itself amongst some of the most prestigious Centres of Excellence for management education and development in the world.

Belfast Harbour

Belfast Harbour is a prestigious organisation who manage Belfast Harbour Estate, some 20% of the Belfast City area which has seen huge transformational change over the past few years.

To help equip Belfast Harbour's practicing and future leaders with the skills they need to help their organisation take advantage of emerging transformational business opportunities, Ulster University Business School (UUBS) has partnered with Belfast Harbour to co-create a leadership development programme.

UUBS worked closely with senior staff from Belfast Harbour to understand and establish their training needs, and through partnership and co-creation a customised programme was crafted in line with Belfast Harbour’s organisational and development goals.

The programme will introduce students to academic knowledge, frameworks and best practice and help participants to practically apply this to their organisation. The course leads to a Postgraduate Certificate in Executive Leadership.

Axiom Mini MBA

Axiom is the global leading alternative legal services provider.

With over 2,000+ employees across three continents, they provide talent and technology to help legal departments adapt to a demanding new era.

Ulster University Business School were challenged by Axiom to put together a short course which would introduce Axiom’s client facing staff to key aspects of business and management, helping the staff to learn the language of business and gain an appreciation of business practice and theory so they could form a deeper understanding of their clients, and thus provide an improved service.

Our academic team worked closely with Axiom to define an appropriate curriculum which was delivered over a series of day modules to Axiom staff who came from Belfast, USA and Poland.

Hastings Hotels

Hastings Hotels are Northern Ireland’s premier hotel group and pride themselves on delivering the best experience for their guests.  Their mission is to deliver the finest in Irish hospitality with style and elegance.

The group operate in a highly competitive sector and understand that a highly skilled and motivated staff are essential for them to deliver against the high level of customer service they are renown for.

Ulster University Business School's challenge was to work with Hastings Group to develop and deliver a bespoke staff development programme for first line and new managers which would meet the high standard required of the hotel group.  The programme needed to address specific organisational needs, whilst basing all the learning in an academic framework which rewarded the staff with a university qualification.

Ulster University Business School worked closely with Hastings Group to co-create and develop a curriculum which met their needs and those of their staff.  The Management Ambassador Programme (MAP) was the result – a tailored programme of 6 modules with content addressing the content and skills required by the client at a time and venue suited to their needs.  As well as addressing specific client content needs the programme drew on Ulster University Business School academics’ experience and expertise to deliver the latest academic research, thinking and good practice.

The MAP programme has delivered record satisfaction rates leading to increased staff retention which helps the group to deliver against their mission of delivering the finest in Irish hospitality with style and elegance.

Deloitte

For a number of years Deloitte have had a strategic partnership with Ulster University Business School, which has provided a fantastic platform to engage in the BrightStart Scheme together.

This is unique scheme which is the first level six apprenticeship in Northern Ireland and the first apprenticeship for Deloitte in the U.K.

It offers a unique blend of a degree in business and technology, alongside profession recognised qualifications and on the job learning. Ulster University Business School have a very important role to play alongside Deloitte to help them deliver their strategic ambition and objectives for Belfast over the coming years.

Deloitte needed a partner who understands the culture of the firm as well as their needs and demands, hence Ulster University Business School was the perfect partner.

CME Group

CME Group is the world’s largest derivatives exchange, with headquarters in Chicago and operating in over 150 countries. The relationship between the Business School and CME Group through the launch of the Financial Innovation Lab and Financial Services Academy demonstrates the commitment to providing graduates with the opportunity for a great career in the financial sector.

Ulster University Business School is one of a few business schools in the UK and Ireland to offer direct use of the Bloomberg Professional service through its CME Group Foundation Financial Innovation Laboratory.

The relationship between the Business School and CME Group, specifically placement opportunities provided to students, has enabled graduates to have a better understanding of the financial services sector.
