Ulster's New Belfast Sports Centre
Ulster University has announced a new Sports Centre will be opening from September in Belfast.
You may have noticed the construction work on Nelson Place and we are now delighted to reveal that a brand new Ulster University Belfast Sports Centre will be opening on the ground floor of Student Roost Nelson Place Student Accommodation, just a short walk from York Street.
The centre will be operated by UU Sport and features state-of-the-art facilities for students, staff and members. For anyone choosing to live in the Student Roost building, access to the Sports Centre will be included in their accommodation package.
The Sports Centre will be accessible to everyone from those starting a fitness journey to sports clubs, teams and professional athletes. The facilities include:
- A full-size, multi-purpose, four-court Sports Hall for sports such as netball, basketball, futsal and more
- A unique outdoor activity space on the rooftop including an 80m running track and yoga space
- State-of-the-art training facilities including a gym with a dedicated cardio mezzanine
- Wellness rooms and a spin studio

The Sports Centre will open in September this year, ahead of Semester One of the new academic year.
