The About the Environmental Sciences Research Institute

The Environmental Sciences Research Institute draws together experts and collaborators across a range of geography and environmental science disciplines to address many of the regional and international changes, challenges and impacts facing society in the 21st Century.

Researchers work within a strategic framework of:

·      Advancing theory and knowledge in areas relating to rapid societal/environmental change and exploration
·      Undertaking research across local to global scales and contextualising this for teaching programmes
·      Using research as a knowledge exchange platform to aid and influence policy and management decision making

Our Research Groups cover two major interdisciplinary themes:

1.     Heritage, Conflict and Society
2.     Environmental Processes and Management
