The role of LDSE Assessor in the workplace
- Attending DSE assessor and refresher training to develop and maintain the relevant knowledge and skills.
- Be familiar with and understand the contents detailed within the Ulster University DSE procedure.
- On request, assist DSE users in completing their self- assessment.
- Provide on request from users/managers guidance and information about setting up their workstation.
- Where issues are identified in self-assessments, assist individuals and managers to identify practical solutions.
- Maintain compliance with your own DSE assessment.
- Promote DSE compliance through the safe use of DSE observations and provision of information to staff.
- Collaborative working with other HSW champions across Ulster.
- Attend annual HSW champion meetings and relevant training.
- Escalate issues identified through an individual's DSE assessment to the relevant manager who can make a referral to the appropriate department (Health, Safety and Wellbeing or Occupational Health) for further assessment.
