Apply for an Asylum Seekers Scholarship
Ulster University will offer up to three scholarships for Asylum seekers for academic year 2020/21 to include tuition fee costs and a travel/course costs bursary of £500.
Please note the deadline for applications to this scholarship is 1 May 2020.Late applications will not be considered. Applicants must have the ‘right to study’ in the UK included within their immigration status by the time of the Scholarship closing date of 1 May 2020.
In no more than 500 words, please outline your reason for applying to study the above course at Ulster University, what barriers you have overcome to continue your education and if successfully awarded a scholarship, how you would benefit from this support?
You must also provide a supporting statement from a referee to support your application. The referee must provide their contact details and confirm that the school, college, community or voluntary group that they represent wishes to support your application. The statement must be no more than 500 words and outline ‘how well suited the applicant is to higher education and the course they have applied to study’.
You must provide all the documentation you have received from the Home Office in relation to your asylum claim.
