Service Description

Lecturer arranged sessions to introduce new students to the University's full range of Library and IT services and facilities.

These standardised induction sessions form part of a broader user education programme to develop effective information skills and may include practical, hands-on exercises or a tour of the library.

Business Process

Provides an overview to new students on what is offered by the Library, an awareness of the University's IT facilities and the help available in supporting them in their studies.

While these sessions are standardised, they may be tailored to meet the particular needs of the students by arrangement with the lecturer.

The joint Library/ICT sessions usually last no more than one hour. Arrangement of these sessions are made by the lecturer before the start of the course.
