Centre for Media Research

The centre for media research was established in 2004 with a £3.1 million grant under the Support Programme for University Research (SPUR2). It coordinates, directs and expands upon the growing body of research that emanated from the Media Studies section in the University of Ulster.

Since then, the CMR has developed a series of research strands including film, television, photography, journalism, new media technologies and interactive media. This research is both historical and contemporary and the focus is both local and global.
