Following the submission of your Invention Disclosure
- you will be notified of receipt by our office and a reference number allocated to your project
- a technology commercialisation executive (TCE) will be allocated to you
- an initial meeting between the TCE and yourself will take place to discuss and agree the Invention Disclosure - a patentability opinion - an initial market / opportunity assessment - a technical opinion
- also at this meeting you and the TCE will agree the need for and commissioning of:-
Some of the above work may be undertaken by the Innovation Services executives however on some occasions this may be outsourced to a suitable organisation with a relevant skill or expertise in the subject area.
Our Commitment
- An opinion on your technology, its market potential and patentability will be delivered to you 6 – 8 weeks from the disclosure to our office
- You will be involved in all aspects of the screening and assessment process
- A recommendation will be made by our Technology Review Group as to whether your technology progresses to Phase II of the process
- This recommendation and clear rationale as to how it was reached will be communicated to promoter within the timeframe state. On some occasions a positive assessment may trigger an initial UK Patent Application. This may require further engagement with our patent attorneys.
