What is RTÉ Brainstorm

Brainstorm is a unique partnership between RTÉ and Irish third level institutions.

RTÉ Brainstorm is where the academic and research community contribute to public debate, reflect on what’s happening in the world around us and communicate fresh thinking on a broad range of issues.

Combining opinion, analysis and features, RTÉ Brainstorm is edited by RTÉ and compliments their online journalism and content. It provides readers with informed views and perspectives on a vast range of topics.

How do I contribute?

You’ll receive a welcome email from our dedicated point of contact Jim Carroll. After this if you have anything you want to write about you simply contact Jim directly and discuss your idea, he can talk you through it from there.

PhD students can take part too!

Who uses Brainstorm?

The Brainstorm audience is the general public.

Since it began RTÉ brainstorm has had over 3 million unique visitors.

Brainstorm has been running for a year and over 600 articles have been published to date. Academics from all over Ireland take part. The founding partners of RTÉ brainstorm are:

  • University of Limerick
  • DCU
  • Dublin Institute of Technology
  • Maynooth University

The Irish Research Council are also a strategic partner.
