Consultancy services , as of the 1st August 2016, are managed by Ulster University rather than Innovation Ulster Ltd.

Ulster University defines consultancy as the provision of expert advice to external clients by university staff.

This encompasses any external activity utilising the academic knowledge or technical expertise for which the member of staff has been primarily employed by the University and which may involve using University facilities.
