Proof of Concept

Proof of Concept supports the pre-commercialisation of leading-edge technologies emerging from the Ulster University as well as other Northern Ireland’s research organisations.

The financial assistance provided by the programme helps researchers to export their ideas and inventions from the laboratory to the global marketplace.

Invest Northern Ireland, through the Ulster’s Research & Innovation, can provide up to a maximum of £100,000 of support towards eligible costs.

There are two strands of support available:

• Support for the further development of the technology (12 months duration) with maximum assistance of up to £80,000
• Support for efforts towards commercialising the technology (15 months duration) with maximum assistance of up to £20,000

The commercialisation strand runs in parallel with the technology strand
