Daniel Philpott


Overview

Daniel has been lecturing at Ulster University since 2015, teaching on Foundation Art & Design and Graphic Design and Illustration before joining the Interaction Design course. He has a First-Class Honours degree in Design for Visual Communication and is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy as well as a member of the Institute of Designers in Ireland.

He specialises in branding and typography and is an Assessor for the International Society of Typographic Designers and is currently working towards a PhD that explores the relationship between typography and cultural identity.

He has extensive experience in the commercial application of branding and design, having worked for some of the leading design companies in Belfast and for clients further afield. Through his own consultancy he has created brands and websites for customers in the private, public and voluntary sectors.
