Impact30 Seminar Series 2020/21

Research Impact: How to get the best star ratings with months to go.

This Impact30 presentation has been produced by Professor Hugh McKenna.  From his research experience in various countries, Professor McKenna has a unique insight into what research impact is, how it is assessed and how to ensure that your work is impactful.

This 30 minute talk includes an overview of REF2021, the value of research impact, a detailed breakdown and analysis of the various sections that make up an Impact Case Study with a key focus on how impact is assessed.

This presentation is very timely with the upcoming REF submission and will be of interest to those looking to hone their Impact Case Studies for REF2021, as well as any researcher interested in enhancing the impact of their research.

Professor McKenna has recently published a book on the subject; “Research Impact:  Guidance on Advancement, Achievement and Assessment”, Springer Publication which is available at springer.com/shop.

N.B. The impact case study template includes indicative word counts for some sections; you may go over the indicative word counts as long as the overall case study is no more that 5 pages.
