We are delighted that Francesca has been awarded the TJI Scholarship 2021 to support her participation on the LLM Human Rights Law and Transitional Justice.

According to Francesa:

“I am truly grateful for the support of the Transitional Justice Institute Scholarship.

Moving to Belfast alone, as an international student, was much less daunting knowing that I have the Transitional Justice Institute to support me academically, professionally and financially. It is truly an honour to have been selected as this year’s scholar.

I am a full-time student on the LLM in Human Rights Law and Transitional Justice. I also teach part-time in a public law school in the Philippines. I have been teaching Natural Resources and Environmental Law, as well as Humanitarian Law in Armed Conflicts, for the last two years. During my year at the Institute, I hope to establish professional networks and enrich my knowledge of International Human Rights Law and Transitional Justice.”

The course director Dr Thomas Hansen adds:

“The scholarship is important because it provides financial support to skilled students, and carries a level of prestige which may potentially advance recipients’ career paths. It further supports the agenda of TJI, including attracting talent to LLM programmes.”
