About this opportunity

The McColgan Scholarship is a highly prestigious award.

The Scholarship provides £1,000 per academic year to one undergraduate student on selected courses in the School of Engineering and the School of Computing, Engineering and Intelligent Systems of the University for the duration of their course, up to a maximum of 4 years.

Eligibility criteria

The Scholarship is open to students who are enrolled on any of the following programmes:

School of Engineering

  • BSc Hons Biomedical Engineering MEng
  • BEng Hons Electronic Engineering MEng
  • BEng Hons Mechanical Engineering MEng
  • BEng Hons Mechatronic Engineering

School of Computing, Engineering and Intelligent Systems

  • BEng Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering
  • BEng Renewable Energy Engineering
  • BEng Electrical and Electronic Engineering

In addition to being enrolled on one of the above programmes, to be eligible for the scholarship applicants must be currently resident in Northern Ireland, or in counties Donegal, Leitrim, Cavan, Monaghan or Louth, and must have achieved at least 40 UCAS points above the tariff for their selected course.
