Ulster University Business School and City College will deliver joint undergraduate programmes in Business Studies and International Business programmes in Management, Marketing and Business Administration commencing September 2019. The affiliate college has been endorsed by Invest NI, British Council and the Department of Trade and Industry, Qatar.
Ulster University Business School ranked one of the UK’s top ten entrepreneurial universities and the sixth largest Business School in the UK with over 60,000 alumni working across 120 countries as drivers of economic growth globally. Ulster University Business School will provide City College with franchised business education programmes based on the academic content and assessment offered by Ulster University across its four regional campuses in Northern Ireland and through its London and Birmingham branch campuses.
Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Education Professor Paul Bartholomew commented:
“The innovative partnership between City College and the Ulster Business School represents a milestone for Ulster University’s internationalisation agenda. This new partnership, capitalising on the strengths of each partners’ experience will lead the shaping of the careers of the business leaders of the future in Doha and beyond.”
Associate Dean Ulster University Business School, Professor Jackie McCoy led on the establishment of the affiliate college said;

Dr. Michael Clarke, Principal of City College, commented:
“We are delighted to become an affiliate college of Ulster University. Our new internationally-recognised UK degrees awarded by Ulster University will allow our students to progress to studying the final year of the BSc (Hons) Business Studies from a UK university that is ranked in the Top 200 Young Universities by Times Higher Education, 2019. The Diploma in International Foundation Studies is recognised by universities in Doha and abroad and allows students to proceed to year 1 of university. These programmes are approved by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Qatar. As part of Qatar’s pivotal role in supporting the direction towards a skilled workforce, and to achieve the Qatar National Vision 2030, we intend to launch, in the near future, new programmes that will enable progression pathways to a variety of Ulster University degrees.”
