The University of Ulster, has hosted a visit at its Magee campus from John J. Sweeney, the inaugural recipient of the International Conflict Research Institute (INCORE) Global Peace and Justice Award. Mr Sweeney is the former President of the AFL-CIO, America’s largest federation of US unions, which represents over 12.5 million working men and women in America. He has been recognised by INCORE for his commitment to lobbying for fair wages and better working conditions in America. As an associate of Tip O’Neill, he is also being applauded for his support of peace building in Northern Ireland through economic development.
