The University of Ulster Students’ Union has received a UK award for displaying continuous improvement to the services and activities they deliver to their members.  The awards ceremony took place in Portcullis House at the Palace of Westminster, London.

The Students’ Union has been taking part in the Students’ Union Evaluation Initiative (SUEI), an assessment project run by the National Union of Students (NUS).

Claire Flanagan, University of Ulster Students’ Union Overall President said:

“We are delighted to offer our students a high level of service which is not only recognised within our institution but also with a national accreditation. Receiving the SUEI Award can assure our current and prospective students of the quality of support their Students’ Union can offer them. We want our members to make the best of their time at University and engage with their Students’ Union and the opportunities we can provide them.”

Avril Honan, Students’ Union Student Engagement Manager said:

“The SUEI process has quite simply made the University of Ulster Students’ Union a better organisation. It has rediscovered itself as a membership led body focused on what our students want and delivering on this as effectively as possible.”

NUS Vice President for Union Development Ed Marsh said: “I would like to congratulate all of the unions who have received awards. They have shown how committed they are to making a real difference to the lives of their members.”
