Ciaran White (Director of Mooting) organised a demonstration moot, on October 12, in our brand new, bespoke Moot Court Room, for the benefit of Ulster Law students. This demonstrated the capabilities of the new facility, in which audio and visual recording is possible.
Ulster alumni and former mooters, Jordan Thorburn, Belinda Widocka, Ben Lowry and Cerys Kennedy, argued a judicial review application before Ciaran White sitting as the judge. Lord Justice McCloskey and Head of School, Dr Esther McGuinness, were also on hand to observe the demonstration.
The Demonstration Moot also acted as an exemplar for students who might be interested in participating in this year's Ulster University Moot Court Competition (closing date 28 Oct) or who simply what to understand what they will have to do in those modules where mooting is part of the assessment.
