Visitors, Guests & Associates
Information for visitors and associates who require access to University resources.
Visitors wishing to use University wireless services must login using a temporary account provided by the University for this purpose.
There are two main account types, Guest and Associate. 'Guest' accounts are for those requiring short term access for a definite period of time, while those who require access over a prolonged period of time must apply for an 'Associate' account.
Visitors who are registered in an eduroam-enabled institution, and have their devices configured correctly prior to their visit to the University do not require another account.

Additionally, 'Visitor' accounts are available for those who do not need wireless access but instead need to login to a University workstation within a centrally supported Laboratory, Library Open Access Areas or Teaching Room for a short term, definite period of time.
Please note that Visitor, Guest and Associates Accounts require sponsorship by an employee at the University. This may be a conference organiser or a research/exchange supervisor.
Requesting Guest WiFi Access
This is a self-provisioning service for use on all campuses. While on campus, the guest can connect to the Guest wireless service and complete an online form. An email will be sent to the guest’s staff sponsor, who will then approve the guest's access.
Note: In order to approve Guest WiFi access, you need to access the approval link either on-campus, or use a remote access method such as Azure RDWeb or Pulse VPN.

Requesting a Visitor Account
If your visitor requires access to Teaching Room/Library PC's, please request a Visitor Account.
To ensure your request is actioned and accounts are provisioned within the required timescale please:
- provide at least 1 days’ notice.
- provide all required information within the spreadsheet for each individual visitor account required.
- Start Date of account
- End Date of account
- Purpose of Visit
Please do not remove any columns from the spreadsheet.
Only the information shown as per the example record within the template is required, as indicated above.
Please also note there is no requirement for the Visitor to provide their DOB and we should not request it.
Where information is shown left deliberately blank in the example record within the template, please also leave this blank.
Requesting an Associate Account
As a member of staff, you may 'sponsor' a person who is not a member of University staff to have access to IT facilities for the purposes of the business needs of the University.
Personal information, period of association and primary association status details will be required.
Sponsors initiate the request through the RAD System - SPONSORS
- The Sponsors link is currently only supported in Edge
- Username - E-code
- Password - National Insurance number
