Overview
This session aims to enable PhD Supervisors to provide their students with introductory guidance on copyright issues related to their theses. It will also provide information on the funding available to PhD researchers to publish open access. Furthermore, the session will cover open access requirements for funded PhD researchers.
Intended Audience
This session is open to all current and prospective PhD Supervisors.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this session, participants will:
- Understand the copyright status of their students’ theses, including IP
- Be able to assist their students in planning the inclusion of copyrighted material
- Be able to support submissions of Theses by Papers format
- Be aware of funding support available for open access publishing
- Be able to support compliance with funder open access requirements
- Be aware of the support services available to them and their students
