Overview
Supervisors are responsible for overseeing the planning and conduct of PhD researcher projects, including ethical challenges and any ethical approval processes.
This workshop is designed to provide insight into the principles and practices of research ethics approval at Ulster.
It considers the purpose of research ethics, assists staff to become familiar with research ethics processes and looks at how staff can best support PhD researchers.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this interactive workshop participants will:
- Have an understanding of supervisor and PhD researcher responsibility with regard to research ethics.
- Have an understanding of research ethics principles, governance and processes at Ulster.
- Have acquired knowledge of processes for applying for NHS research approval.
- Have had the opportunity to discuss and review triggers for ethical concern.
- Have had the opportunity to discuss common challenges and potential solutions.
