There is also an extensive greenway network which makes walking to campus enjoyable and convenient.

By Bike
Extensive greenway network and roadside traffic free routes
Cycling to the Derry ~Londonderry campus is convenient with an extensive greenway network and roadside traffic free routes linking the city centre to its suburbs as well as satellite conurbations including New Buildings, Culmore and Strathfoyle.
There are numerous cycle parking locations throughout the campus, with a Cycle Hub located within the MG Building. Shower facilities are available in the sports centre, Block MG and Block MU.
Staff and students should register for access stating name and staff/student number by emailing Carparks at Ulster.
Other outdoor cycle parking locations are located throughout the campus.

You can avail of the yLink Smartcard with up to 50% of bus and rail travel.

Foyle Metro
The Contactless ticketing on Foyle Metro services means that you can buy your bus ticket from the driver using your debit/credit card or smart device. The Foyle Metro single fare is £1.80 and the Foyle Metro mLink Day Ticket is £2.10 (using the mLink app https://www.translink.co.uk/mlink) giving unlimited day travel on Foyle Metro services and is a great value option if you are making several journeys during the day.
By Train
One of the most beautiful rail journeys in the world
There is an hourly train service from Derry~Londonderry to Belfast and it has been described as “one of the most beautiful rail journeys in the world” A free shuttle bus (2d) connects the rail service from the North West Transport hub to the Foyle bus station.

By Bus
Well serviced with bus and coach services
The Foyle Street Bus station is a 1km walk to the Derry~Londonderry Campus. You can also avail of bus services from the Foyle bus station to the campus with 15 bus services per hour at peak times (between 7am-9am) and 8 services per hour off-peak serving Magee campus.
The Goldline bus routes from the Foyle bus station connect to towns across the province and Republic of Ireland including Omagh, Strabane, Coleraine, Belfast and Dublin.
Translink are also offering an extension of the following services to the campus and students halls during term time.
- 212 service departing Belfast at 1815, 1915, 2015 and 2115.
- 273 service departing from Dungannon at 1810 & Omagh at 1900 and departing Dungannon at 1910& Omagh at 2000
- The rail connection service (2d) departing the Northwest Transport Hub at 2130
By Car
Car parking available
There is car parking available for those who need to drive to the campus.
Please note that the main campus car parks at Derry~Londonderry campus can experience high demand at various times and there is nearby off-road parking available at the university car park on Duncreggan Road. We would ask you to be considerate if parking on street in the neighbouring residential areas as this can sometimes cause a nuisance to residents by blocking pavements, driveways or local access.
We would encourage you to consider carsharing with your fellow students or colleagues if driving to campus. Sharing rides not only reduces your carbon footprint but also helps you save on fuel costs and parking costs. Ulster University is also a member of Liftshare, which is a flexible platform for staff that helps connect colleagues who want to share car journeys and save themselves some money. You don’t need to have a car to get started as you can register as a passenger.
