We were delighted to welcome alumni and friends to our Derry~Londonderry campus for a special evening, In Conversation with Bronagh Gallagher, bringing our vibrant alumni community together for an inspiring and personal discussion.
Hosted by Professor Paul Moore, the conversation explored Bronagh’s life and career, with the Derry-born artist speaking openly about her roots and creative journey. She described herself as “always going to be the proudest Derry girl,” capturing the strong sense of place that has shaped her work.
Throughout the evening, Bronagh spoke warmly about the people she has worked with, highlighting her generous approach to collaboration and storytelling, and encouraging others to embrace opportunities close to home. “You don’t have to go away,” she said, urging young creatives to build their ideas and careers right here in the city.
The event also provided a valuable opportunity for guests to reconnect and marked the launch of the Ulster Screen Academy Alumni Network, celebrating the strength of the University’s creative community.
