Ulster University welcomed alumni, partners and supporters to the House of Commons on 11 June 2026 for a special evening celebrating connection, innovation and impact.
Hosted in partnership with The Honourable The Irish Society, the event brought together the University’s London network to reconnect, build relationships and explore future collaboration. Opening the evening, the Vice-Chancellor highlighted the strength of Ulster’s global community and the importance of staying connected, while celebrating the achievements of graduates and supporters.
A key moment of the evening was a panel on ‘Regional Transformation Through Excellence’, chaired by Provost Professor Cathy Gormley-Heenan.
Featuring leading researchers:
- Professor Bridgeen Callan, sharing insights into pioneering cancer research
- Professor Declan Keeney, discussing the work of Studio Ulster
- Professor David Crozier, outlining developments within the Advanced Intelligent Computing Centre (AICC)
The discussion showcased the breadth and depth of Ulster’s research, highlighting how innovation is delivering real-world impact regionally and globally. Speakers also brought a human perspective to their work, helping to inspire and engage the audience while encouraging further conversation during the networking reception that followed.
Strengthening a global community
The event provided valuable opportunities for attendees to reconnect, build new relationships and engage directly with University leaders and academics. From networking over refreshments to exploring collaboration opportunities, the evening reflected the strength and diversity of Ulster University’s alumni community in London.
