Maple Lodge Resident Information
Maple Lodge is situated close to campus and is only a few minutes walk away from Coleraine town, where you will find a full range of shops and supermarkets, on the outskirts of the town there is a cinema, bowling alley and other retail outlets.
Portrush and Portstewart are also close by, so there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
The area also has good transport links, so Belfast and Derry/Londonderry can be easily reached by bus or train.

Resident Support Assistants (RSA)
The Resident Support Assistant for Maple Lodge is Sagar Vyavahare. He lives in Flat 8.5 and is there to:
1. Help you adjust to living in a large residential area and provide peer support and guidance on a range of issues.
2. Deal with minor disputes and any initial instances of anti-social behavior.
3. Help organise social activities and keep you updated on the Resident's Life Programme
4. Provide you with information of campus facilities.

Night Support Assistants (NSA)
Your NSA is Gary Watton, he operates from the Residential Services Office and is available 10.00pm to 5.00am Sunday evening to Friday morning. If you need to contact him please telephone 07885 389 490.
Night support assistants are members of staff who will help you settle into campus life.
They provide advice and assistance for a range of issues and are mainly responsible for health and safety.
As you will be living in close proximity to each other, a high level of tolerance and respect is required.
Maple Lodge is located just outside the perimeter of campus.

There are notice boards in each complex notifying you of the RSA rota and contact numbers as well as social events and other activities.
The electricity to your apartment has been provided and the key pad meter has been credited so you do not need to do anything . If there is a problem with the electricity please contact the Accommodation office or the Resident Support Assistant.
Maple Lodge has a centralised fire alarm system which is for your protection.
On hearing the alarm, you should follow the “Fire/ Emergency Procedure” which is set out on the blue and white notice in your flat.
Each flat has a tenant mute switch - if there has been an accidental activation and you know it definitely is not a fire you can silence the alarm within the first three minutes after activation by turning the tenant mute switch to the silent position and hold it there until the alarm stops. If the alarm does not stop you must follow the fire evacuation procedure and exit the building and go to car park ---- and await instructions.
If you encounter a fire, no matter how small, you should raise the alarm and evacuate immediately.
There is oil-fired central heating throughout, which is included in the price of your accommodation.
This service provides heating and hot water.
Monday-Friday 8.00am-10.00am & 6.00pm-11.00pm
Weekends 10.00am-12.00 noon & 6.00pm-11.00pm
If your heating or hot water is not working please report it to the Residential Services Team immediately.
Each study bedroom has a telephone/ modem point.
If you wish to have this activated, please contact BT directly.
There is a TV aerial socket in the living room.
An internet service is available through BT Infinity which includes Wi-Fi access. The access code and the helpline details are displayed in your kitchen.
Please make sure that all your rubbish is placed in the large capacity bins provided. These are located throughout the complex.
The Blue Bins are for recycling newspaper, cardboard, clean glass jars & bottles and clean tin cans.
Please keep the bin area clean and tidy at all times.- do not leave bags of rubbish on the ground
You are responsible for cleaning your own bedroom, kitchen, living room, shower and WC, and cleaning equipment is available to use in your unit, although you should purchase your own cleaning products, bin bags and toilet paper.
Kitchens should be kept clean and tidy, with all equipment washed and put away after use.
Inspections will be carried out each term and you will be notified when these are taking place.
If any repairs are required in your accommodation please fill in a fault report form online so we can fix it.
Please note that appointments cannot be made for maintenance works and access to your room may be required for repairs and maintenance when you are absence.
There may be occasions when routine maintenance needs to be carried out, 48 hours notice will be given to notify you when this will take place.
There is on-site parking for approximately 10-15 cars.
Free parking is provided for residents only on a first come, first served basis.
The University accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to any vehicle left in the car park.
