Errigal and Knocklayde are situated on campus, which is just a few minutes walk from Coleraine town centre where you will find a full range of shops and supermarkets, on the outskirts of the town there is a cinema, bowling alley and other retail outlets. Portrush and Portstewart are also close by and they include a range of cafes, bars and restaurants, so there will be something for everyone to enjoy. The area also has good transport links, so Belfast and Derry/Londonderry can be easily reached by bus or train.

Reslife Cordinators (RLC)
Your RLCS are Michael Sampson & Gillian Francey and they work from 5 pm each evening until 4 am in the morning and are based in the Accommodation Office, Cranagh Village. Michael and Gillian will work a four day rota including weekends so there will always be a Manager on site to help residential students whether it is to do with your rent, events or well being they are there to assist you.

Night Assistant (NA)
Your NA is Gary Watton he operates from the Residential Services Office, he is available 10.00pm to 5.00am Sunday evening to Friday morning, if you need to contact him please telephone 078 8538 9490.
Your NSA provides advice and assistance for a range of issues and are mainly responsible for health and safety.
As you will be living in close proximity to each other, a high level of tolerance and respect is required.

1. Help you adjust to living in a large residential area and provide peer support and guidance on a range of issues and will deal with minor disputes and any initial instances of anti-social behaviour.

All of our Resident Assistants have received basic training in first aid. For minor incidents please call a member of staff during working hours or your Resident Assistance/Night Support Assistant outside of office hours. For emergencies, please call 101. All injuries and incidents must be reported to Residential Services staff.

Please make sure you close doors firmly behind you and do NOT let strangers into the block.
Once you register your student card will become your access card for the residences and you need to keep this with you at all times.
Night support staff patrol the residences from the Residential Services Office between 10.00pm and 5.00am Sunday to Friday morning.
If you are concerned about security, please contact the Residential Services during working hours.
If you need to contact them outside working hours, please telephone the central security desk which is open 24 hours on 028 7012 4480.
Repairs & Maintenance
If any repairs are required, please report them ASAP as follows:
Please note any emergency repairs such as flooding or utility loss such as water or full electricity outage should be reported immediately to either reception staff during the day or RAs, ResLife Night Assistants or ResLife Coordinators throughout the night.
If any standard repairs are required in your accommodation please fill in a fault report form online so we can fix it.
ResLife will endeavor to complete Emergency repairs within 0-24 hours, Urgent repairs within 5 days and Routine repairs within 15 days. You will be informed of any delays to this anticipated response. Please note that appointments cannot be made for maintenance works and access to your room may be required to facilitate repairs and maintenance in your absence.
If you are present, please make a point of checking the ID of all strangers who call at your door. All staff will have ID.

The heating times may be extended during the winter months where necessary.

Post will be delivered to the Residential Services Office for you to collect. Please note that large packages cannot be delivered to the Residential Services Office due to space restrictions.
The W-Fi within Cranagh Student Village and Knocklayde/Errigal is operated by Glide and if you encounter difficulties you should contact the help desk - details on your noticeboard.
Please make sure that all your kitchen rubbish is placed in black bin bags.
All rubbish should be removed by residents to the bin stores, which are clearly visible in the residential areas.
Do not dump rubbish on the ground. Bins are emptied every Wednesday.
The blue bins are for recycling newspapers. cardboard, clean glass jars and bottles and clean tin cans.
Additional charges will be applied if domestic rubbish is not removed by residents on a regular basis.
You are responsible for cleaning your bedroom and cleaning equipment is available for use within your unit, although you should purchase your own cleaning products, bin bags and toilet paper.
Communal areas are cleaned weekly, kitchens should be kept clean and tidy, as the cleaning staff cannot clean your kitchen if there are dirty dishes left in sinks and on worktops.
No cleaning is carried out in self-contained flats, but they are inspected regularly to ensure hygiene standards are maintained.
If additional cleaning is required due to inappropriate hygiene standards, then additional cleaning will be provided and charges made to those concerned.
If you are dissatisfied with the quality of cleaning provided, please contact the Residential Services Office.
Parking is provided on a first come first served basis, but all cars coming into campus will need to pay a parking charge, please see www.ulster.ac.uk/carparks for details.
Please do not park on pavements, grass verges or obstruct paths, as vehicles not parked in designated parking spaces will be clamped and there is a £50 fee for unclamping your vehicle.
The University accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to any vehicle left in the car parks.
The laundry room is equipped with washing machines and tumble dryers and is open seven days a week from 8.00am to 11.00pm.
Laundry must not be dried within accommodation units, i.e hung over curtain rails or banisters etc.
Most UK banks and building societies are located in Coleraine town centre.
There is a cash machines on the bridge in the Central Building.
The post office is also located on the bridge in the Central Building, it offers cash withdrawals for some banks and building societies.
The local Tesco stores operate a bus service to and from campus three times per week – please check notice boards for information. There are also other supermarkets such as Asda, Sainsbury’s and Lidl close by.
Pests such as rats, mice, ants, spiders and other insects can become a problem. All reasonable pest control measures are taken by the Residential Services to prevent pest issues. You can minimise the presence of pests by ensuring that all food is stored properly and scraps are disposed of immediately. Avoid leaving rubbish lying on the floor and adequately clean kitchens and benchtops after food preparation and cooking.
If you see or suspect an infestation please contact the Accommodation Office immediately either in person, by phone or email and we will endeavour to have this investigated by Pest Control within 48 hours.
Snow & Ice Clearance Response
During icy periods highlighted by weather reports from Northern Ireland MET Office by post code, we will treat all hard-surfaced areas such as roadways, car-parks, access and exit routes, pedestrian areas, footpaths and doorways.
When salting/gritting has been determined as being required, salting/gritting operations will take place between the hours of 12.00am (Midnight) and 7.00am. This will operate for normal University activities, 7 days a week.
Snow clearance is not a normally provided however if there is a seriously heavy snowfall staff will endeavour to remove snow to keep routes accessible.
