Please contact the Legal Services Unit if you require the development or update of a University legal agreement template.

Development of template legal agreements are encouraged where colleagues  are repeatedly entering into the same type of agreement with third parties and often it is only the commercial details within the Agreement which varies on a case by case basis.  Use of Ulster University template legal agreements ensures consistency of approach and reduces time and fees spent negotiating third party documents.

Once developed, legal agreement templates should be regularly reviewed to ensure that legally and commercially they remain up to date.

Please note that it may not be possible to develop a template in those situations where agreements are individual and bespoke in nature or tend to be heavily negotiated.

The Legal Services Unit hold a number of existing template legal agreements (see list below) which can be accessed by contacting legalservices@ulster.ac.uk

Upon receipt of an Ulster legal agreement template, please review carefully in the first instance to determine whether or not it is appropriate for the purpose intended.  A template is only a starting point, and the document will often need to be substantively amended, for example, with commercial and other details.  In addition, the templates often include drafting notes, internal comments, drafting options and highlighted text which should be reviewed, amended, or deleted as appropriate before forwarding the template document to an external third party.  Please contact legalservices@ulster.ac.uk who can assist with this process and with  use of templates generally.
