Overview

Rhonda Black has been a technician in the School of Biomedical Sciences at Ulster University since 2000.

She began her career in Veterinary Nursing, training in Cambridge before qualifying with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. She went on to earn the Institute of Animal Technology Membership Diploma and gained extensive experience across veterinary practices and diagnostic laboratories.

Alongside her technical work, Rhonda has held management roles within the University. She also serves as a Radiation Protection Supervisor, is a member of the Technician Commitment steering group, acts as Equality Officer for her local Unite the Union branch, and is an ACAS-trained workplace mediator.

Beyond her professional responsibilities, she runs a successful AirBnB and is in the final year of her BSc (Hons) in ITT Management.
