Professor Jayanta Mondol
Overview
Jayanta Mondol is a Senior Lecturer and Course Director for Architectural Engineering Programme.
Before joining to the academic position he was a RCUK Academic Research Fellow. He holds BSc (Hons) and MSc degree in Physics and MTech in Energy Studies.
He received his PhD from University of Ulster in 2004. He has fifteen years research experience in the area of solar energy technologies, energy efficiency in buildings and clean coal power plant technologies and has published widely in these areas. He has coordinated several collaborative research projects in collaboration with the industries and developed research links with developing countries.
He has been the principal and co-investigator of many projects funded by Invest NI, British Council and Royal Society. He has been the Work Group leader for EU COST Action project (TU1205) and working group member for Bio-energy action plan in Northern Ireland. He was the lead coordinator for the design, development and installation of a state-of-the-art solar simulator facility at the CST and conducted the first long term monitoring investigation of a roof mounted photovoltaic system in Northern Ireland.
Jayanta is a member of Editorial Board of the Sustainable Buildings Journal and reviewer of more than 15 Journals. He is a member of Energy Institute and Institute of Physics.
