Overview

Eimear Nic Roibeaird is a visual artist. She is the co-founder and director of Arcade Studios Belfast and a studio holder at Queen Street Studios. Eimear graduated from Ulster University in 2020 with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art, specialising in Painting.

As a practicing artist, Eimear has exhibited both in Ireland and internationally in a range of solo and group exhibitions. Recent group shows include exhibitions at The MAC and Golden Thread Gallery, among others. Her work explores themes of identity, language, and community, often rooted in her personal experiences and cultural background.

Eimear is a proud Gaeilgeoir and an advocate for the Irish language. Her education through Gaeloideachas (Irish-medium education) deeply shaped her values, instilling a strong sense of community engagement and cultural solidarity. These values inform her work not only as an artist but also in her role at the BSOA Art Shop, where she has been part of the Art Shop Team since 2023. In this role, she actively fosters connections between emerging artists, students, and the wider arts sector. As well as contributing to creating and fostering a supportive environment for students.

With a long-standing commitment to the visual arts, Eimear has contributed to numerous workshops, collaborative projects, and exhibitions. In her role as Funding Officer at Arcade Studios, she supports the development of artist-led initiatives and sustainable creative practice.

Eimear has been awarded funding for her individual practice from various funding bodies, including the Agility Award from An Chomhairle Ealaíon (The Arts Council of Ireland), SIAP Award from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, and an Artist Bursary from the A-N Artist Network.
