Professor Danielle McWall

Overview

Danielle is currently the Associate Dean for Partnership and Student Recruitment having been the Head of the Department of Accounting, Finance and Economics within the Ulster University Business School for 6 years. She joined Ulster University in 2006 and was awarded a Senior Lectureship in 2018 and the University’s Award for Sustained Excellence in Teaching in the same year. She is a Fellow Chartered Accountant for Chartered Accountants Ireland (CAI) and has been a member of CAI since 1992.

Danielle specialises in audit, risk management and assurance and brings her experience as a professional auditor into her academic work. She was an Audit Director with BDO Stoy Hayward prior to joining Ulster University and has managed audits across Europe and the United States in her professional role.

Her research extends to Accounting Education and she has developed several teaching methods including a Freedom to Fail method of assessment to ensure her students succeed in the professional world.
