What is Worktribe?

Worktribe is the University system to manage externally-funded research projects. It is an entirely cloud-based system allowing researchers to manage their projects from one place.

Worktribe offers significant benefits including a full economic costing tool, spend tracking, streamlined project management and clear workflows from submissions to award.

Access to Worktribe

Worktribe access is restricted to academic and support staff who have been approved to use the system.

New Users (Academics & Researchers):

  • The Worktribe Team will activate the new user’s Worktribe Account with the appropriate permission groups assigned, and the new user will receive an email notifying them of their access along with training materials.

New Users (Non-Academics & Support Staff):

  • Non-Academic Users should contact the Worktribe Team via worktribe@ulster.ac.uk to liaise with either the Head of Research Development or Head of Research Management to authorise the level of access required.

The Worktribe Team will activate the new user’s Worktribe Account with the appropriate permission groups assigned, and the new user will receive an email notifying them of their access along with a link to training materials.

At first login, new users will be asked to acknowledge they have undertaken the training provided and acknowledge the Worktribe User Agreement.

Using the Worktribe system means you have agreed to the Worktribe User Agreement and completed the necessary training.

Worktribe Training Materials

The Worktribe team have created training materials in accessible formats to cover the majority of the Worktribe system's functionalities.

The training materials are available in both a slide deck and video format.

You may also reach out to the Worktribe team via email at worktribe@ulster.ac.uk to schedule a personalised training session once you have completed the training materials.

Worktribe Access

Worktribe accounts are created with varying levels of permissions depending on the staff/academic requirements. If you have a Worktribe account, you can access it via your My Day Portal:

My Day Portal > Research > Worktribe

In this site you can manage your projects, search opportunities and access training support material in the help section.

Do you require additional training?  The Worktribe team are able to accommodate personalised training sessions to fill knowledge gaps and to provide a hands-on demo, you just need to reach out to the team with this request via email.
