Our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion team is dedicated to creating an environment where everyone feels valued, respected and empowered. While ensuring compliance with legal standards is essential, we strive to go further - building a truly inclusive experience that celebrates individuality and fosters belonging. Through collaboration, education and proactive initiatives, the team works to break down barriers, challenge biases and champion diversity at every level.

Alexandra recently joined Ulster University as an Inclusion and Belonging Officer at the new Student Success Centre. Alex is a sociologist with a PhD in Gender Equality and Peace Studies.
Alex has more than 15 years of experience working in different areas of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), including developing and implementing EDI programmes funded by the European Union Peace and Reconciliation Funds. Areas of work include Good Relations for the Ethnic Minority Sector, Gender Equality programmes on Women’s Participation in Public Life and for the Integrated Education sector working with teachers and students on anti-bias education, good relations and equality and inclusion.
While working in the higher education sector, as a research and evaluation consultant, Alex has developed a Theory of Change Evaluation Framework to measure the impact of student success initiatives on reducing awarding and continuation differentials in line with the Access and Participation Plan and the EDI strategy for the University of Kent. Alex has expertise in research on equality measures and monitoring through her work developing the ECNI – Measuring Equality in NI- Monitoring Framework.
