Former Director of the Business Institute, Director of the QAHE Partnership and Associate Dean of Global Engagement / Development and Partnerships, Professor McCoy was an esteemed colleague and friend of Ulster University.

Joining the organisation in 1990, initially within the Northern Ireland Small Business Institute, Jackie held a range of roles within the Ulster University Business School until her retirement in December 2024. During this time, Jackie also held several voluntary Board positions in third sector organisations and in 2022, was awarded an MBE for services to Higher Education, Business and the Arts.

In tribute, Professor Gillian Armstrong, Pro Vice Chancellor & Executive Dean of the Ulster University Business School said:

“Jackie will be fondly remembered and very much missed by colleagues throughout Ulster University and far beyond for her unwavering enthusiasm, entrepreneurial spirit and her valued support. With many years of service dedicated to executive education, organisational development and international partnership activity, Jackie ensured continued progress and transformation throughout all her work at Ulster University. Jackie was a positive force of nature and will greatly missed by all who knew her and worked with her, and we extend our deepest sympathies to her family, friends and close colleagues.”
